Mega Bonanza’s Sweepstakes Rules allow the operator to change a game’s odds at any time, but never during a spin. The rules also say each game shows its current odds, so a change is posted rather than hidden. Clovr found no clause at Mega Bonanza, Funrize or MrGoodWin that changes a result without an error.
The real gap is outside oversight, not a hidden switch. New York’s Attorney General said in June 2025 that the state does not audit sweepstakes casino games for rigging.

What Rigged Means at a Sweepstakes Casino
A rigged game produces results that differ from its posted rules. A game that returns less than it takes in is not rigged by that fact alone.
Return to player, or RTP, is a game’s theoretical return across many players over a long period. Mega Bonanza’s Sweepstakes Rules give that definition and show each game’s sweepstakes casino RTP in the game itself.
Sweepstakes casinos use two coin types. Gold Coins are for free play and have no prize value. Sweeps Coins (SC) are redeemable for cash prizes after the operator’s rules are met.
Mega Bonanza’s Rules Allow Odds Changes Between Spins
Mega Bonanza’s Sweepstakes Rules, version 2.0 dated May 27, 2026, cover odds in section 4.3. The operator may change a game’s prize win rates or RTP at its sole discretion. Section 4.3 bars any change during a game or a spin.
The same section says each game’s own interface shows its current and amended odds and RTP. Section 4.3 also makes it the player’s duty to check that figure before each session.
Section 4.3 adds two limits that matter to anyone who feels a site is rigged:
- Outcomes do not depend on a player’s past play, time of play or level of play.
- RTP is a theoretical return across many players over a long period, and it varies by game.
The rules header also states that a purchase or payment does not increase a player’s chances of winning.
A Win on Screen Is Not Final Until It Is Verified
Mega Bonanza’s Sweepstakes Rules, section 5.1, say a player is not a winner even if the screen shows a win. The win counts only after the operator verifies the player’s eligibility and the winning play.
Section 5.1 also says the operator does not have to accept screenshots as proof of a win. Under section 5.3, a player may need to sign an affidavit of eligibility before receiving a prize.
These clauses matter to anyone who feels a win was taken away. Under section 5.2, winning depends on meeting every requirement in the Sweepstakes Rules.
Malfunction Clauses Can Void Play at All Three Sites
All three operators’ terms let the site void play caused by an error or malfunction. The table compares the clauses Clovr read on October 27, 2026.
| Operator and document | What the clause allows | Clause |
|---|---|---|
| Mega Bonanza, Terms of Service v2.9 (Oct 5, 2026) | Voids all play during a system malfunction; voids play caused by a game error | 13.5, 13.6 |
| Mega Bonanza, Terms of Service v2.9 (Oct 5, 2026) | Lets the operator alter balances to correct a mistake from an error or bug | 13.7 |
| Funrize, Terms of Use v2.0 (Mar 6, 2026) | Voids play from a malfunction; voids play after an obvious error in the pay-table, odds or software | 13.5, 13.6, 13.9 |
| Funrize, Terms of Use v2.0 (Mar 6, 2026) | Voids coins or prizes awarded in error | 13.10 |
| MrGoodWin, Terms of Use v2.0 (Feb 27, 2026) | Same malfunction, error and void wording as Funrize | 13.5, 13.6, 13.9, 13.10 |
Each clause ties a void or balance change to an error, bug or malfunction. Players who dispute a void should ask support which clause was applied.
No State Audits These Games, and the Terms Name No Test Lab
New York’s Attorney General said on June 6, 2025, that the state does not audit sweepstakes casino games. The release said players have no way of knowing whether these games are rigged.
The same release said 26 platforms were ending Sweeps Coin sales in New York. Licensed casinos in New York, by contrast, must meet the state’s consumer protection rules, the release said.
Clovr searched four documents for any mention of a random number generator, test lab or game audit. None of the four documents contains that language.
Mega Bonanza’s homepage lists third-party game studios such as Habanero, BGaming, Playson and Booming Games. Under section 4.3, Mega Bonanza still controls each game’s odds and RTP settings.
Worked Example of How RTP Plays Out
The figures below use an example RTP of 96%. Each Mega Bonanza game shows its own RTP in the game panel, so check the real figure before playing.
| Step | Figure | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Sweeps Coins played | 100 SC | Total SC played across many spins |
| Example RTP | 96% | Long-run share returned to players |
| Expected return | 96 SC | 100 SC x 96% |
| Expected shortfall | 4 SC | 100 SC minus 96 SC |
The 4 SC shortfall is a theoretical figure across many players over a long period. Mega Bonanza’s section 4.3 defines RTP in those terms.
At Mega Bonanza, each SC is worth $1.00 at redemption under sections 6.3 and 6.4. A cash prize needs at least 50 SC, and a gift card prize needs at least 10 SC.
Why Losing Streaks Feel Rigged
Mega Bonanza’s section 4.3 says outcomes do not depend on past play, time of play or level of play. The same section says a past win does not change a player’s chances the next day.
Streaks feel personal, but the rules describe each result as separate from the last one. Players who feel upset after losses can find support through the National Council on Problem Gambling.
How to Check a Sweepstakes Casino Before You Play
Six checks in the rules answer most questions about whether sweepstakes casinos are legit and fair. Each step uses clauses any player can find on the site.
- Open the Sweepstakes Rules and find the section on odds, RTP or prize win rates.
- Open the info panel inside each game and note the RTP shown before playing.
- Read the malfunction and error clauses in the Terms, which sit in section 13 at all three sites Clovr read.
- Check the verification rules. Mega Bonanza requires age and identity checks before any prize redemption.
- Confirm the redemption minimum, the playthrough rule and how long redemptions take.
- Check the sweepstakes casino status for your state before you sign up.
Whether sweepstakes casinos are safe for a given player also depends on state law. The guide to sweepstakes casino legality covers how the model works under state law. Verify current laws in your jurisdiction before playing.
Three Sites Whose Rules Clovr Read
Clovr read the terms of three sites for this guide, and each one sets 21 as the minimum age. No purchase is necessary at any of them, and Mega Bonanza offers a mail-in request (AMOE) for free SC.
Mega Bonanza
Mega Bonanza states its odds and RTP rules in section 4.3 of its Sweepstakes Rules. Section 3.2.1 gives new players as much as 3.55 SC in their first three days if they log in daily.
Mega Bonanza’s AMOE requires a handwritten request card with a unique 13-digit request code. Players must be 21 or older, and SC expire after 60 days without SC play. The Mega Bonanza review covers the full offer.
Funrize
Funrize runs under A1 Development LLC, based in Afton, Wyoming, according to its Terms of Use. Its terms list the error and void rules in sections 13.5 to 13.10.
Players must be over 21 under section 3.1 of the Funrize terms. The Funrize review covers its offers and redemption steps.
MrGoodWin
MrGoodWin runs under UTech Solutions LLC, which lists the same Afton, Wyoming address in its Terms of Use. Its void and error clauses match the Funrize wording.
Players must be over 21 under section 3.1 of the MrGoodWin terms. The MrGoodWin review covers its games and prize rules.

Yes, at Mega Bonanza. Section 4.3 of its Sweepstakes Rules lets the operator change odds or RTP, but not during a game or spin.
Are sweepstakes casino games audited by the state?
New York’s Attorney General said in June 2025 that the state does not audit these games. None of the terms Clovr read named a test lab or audit.
Why was my sweepstakes win taken away?
